Jeremiah is Turning One!

It’s crazy to think that it’s been almost a year since I took this handsome little man’s newborn photos! He is getting so big, and we did a quick shoot to do some one year old photos. Big brother got to sneak into some of the shots as well. They are the smiley-est kids in front of the camera, I love it! Happy almost birthday Jeremiah!

I Still Believe in Magic

I went to Disneyland with my mom earlier this week. I had an amazing time, but my feet would beg to differ (I was wearing really cute shoes, which women everywhere should know that means they will kill your feet. And my feet, they we’re brutally murdered.) However, I had an amazing girl day with my mom walking around downtown Disney, then running back and forth between both parks to see everything we wanted to see. It was ridiculously crowded, but still a really good time.

I also was able to meet up with a few friends that were there for the day. You may recognize this super cute family, and will be seeing more of those boys in my next post! I also ran into my friend Genie, who works at Disneyland and had the day off.

Everything was still decorated for Christmas, so we got to see all the beautiful lights, the parade, and snow!

I also got to see the World of Color water show at California Adventure. I got a few good shots of the water, but they definitely do not do the show justice. It was incredible.

Here are some photos I got of my day in the Happiest place on earth!

New

Happy New Year! I hope that you had an amazing celebration, as well as an amazing 2011.

I’ve never really been one for resolutions, my attempts usually seem to fail quite rapidly.

Here was my attempt of 2011:

· Lose 15 lbs. I gained 5
· Take a self portrait every day and post it online. I got to June, then they all started to look very Myspace-ish. Apparently I am not a good inspiration to myself.
· No soda. I actually did pretty well on this one, aside from the occasional ginger ale when I was sick. Or just wanted some.
· Take a photo with the bride and groom at every wedding I shoot. I was actually very successful in that, until I accidental deleted the one from the FIRST WEDDING I SHOT THIS YEAR. It wasn’t in the photos to give to the couple, so I trashed it before remembering I wanted to keep it.

Resolutions just seem to be a giant chore chart to me, so this year mine will be a lot more simple, but I think it’ll work for me.

In 2012, I plan to:

· Shoot more. No rules for this one, just shoot more. I’ve gotten into the habit of only using my camera for work, and not taking any photos during the rest of my life. I was afraid I would feel like I was working, even on vacation, so I would refuse to even bring my camera with me. I just bought a purse that perfectly fits my camera with my 50mm lens on it (I love that lens), so I can carry it around with me wherever I go. I don’t want to have any excuse for missing the opportunity to capture a moment, just because I don’t have my camera with me.

· Blog more. This has 2 parts. Blog more often, and blog about more of my life, not just the photos that I get paid to take. I want people that read my blogsite to know more about me than the fact that I’m a decent photographer. I want to connect with people, and I want people to connect with me. This definitely has to do with the first resolution as well. Shooting more means blogging more, so get ready for a whole heck of a lot of ME.

· Make healthier choices. Instead of forcing myself to eat certain foods, or stick to a strict gym schedule, I want to just be constantly asking myself “Is this healthy?” If yes, then I do it, if no, then I do something else. Should I go to the gym today? Is it healthy? Then yes.

That is all. Feel free to keep me accountable in these, and I wish you all the best of luck in you goals for this year!

The Kimball Family

2011

This year I have been so blessed to be able to photograph some absolutely beautiful weddings. I have definitely grown in my talents as a photographer, and have been able to be a part of many dear friends’ perfect wedding days. To my clients, thank you for choosing me. I appreciate you more than you can imagine.
