When I was starting out in photography, the best learning experiences I had were when I would shoot alongside another more experienced photographer. I have been amazingly blessed to have found a network of photographers that are talented and willing to share their knowledge with each other. Through watching how others would shoot, pose subjects, choose locations and lighting, and trying it out for myself, I was able to gain a decent range of experience in order to form my own style. I still love second shooting for other photographers at weddings, because it allows (and forces) me to be creative in how I shoot, so I don't get the exact same photos as the main shooter. I am always grateful for the opportunity to work with amazing photographers, who I also have the honor of calling my friends. I had the pleasure of shooting Jesse and Matthew's wedding this past weekend

On Second Shooting – Jesse and Matthew’s Wedding
January 20, 2012Karrie and Kyle Maternity
January 17, 2012I liked Karrie from the moment we talked on the phone to schedule this session. She is extremely friendly, very energetic, had awesome ideas for her photos, and is absolutely gorgeous. I also would love to steal her antique trunk that she brought to the shoot... I had the pleasure of shooting her maternity photos this past weekend, along with her handsome husband Kyle. Congratulations Kyle and Karrie, I can't wait to meet your perfect little baby girl in March!
The Most Perfect Day
January 16, 20122 years ago today, I married the most amazing guy in the entire world. It was the best day, despite everything that tried to make it anything but perfect. Here are a few things that made my wedding awesome. - It had rained for 2 weeks straight, and that morning the sky cleared into the most amazing blue. - Our reception building was brand new, and had not been approved for public occupancy yet. 48 hours before, it was approved. - My brother is in the Air Force, and was stationed in Texas, making it impossible for him to be there. 2 weeks before the wedding, he was stationed in CA, still unsure if he was going to be able to make it. The night before, he was given permission to leave for the day, and surprised me before the ceremony (with enough time to fix my makeup of course! I was a crying
Baby Nola
January 8, 2012Welcome to the world baby Nola! This little bundle of cuteness was also part of this shoot, but we hadn't had the pleasure of meeting her yet. Her gorgeous mom was our maternity model, and oh my goodness does she make some adorable babies! I had the pleasure of doing her newborn photos, as well as a few shots with her big sister. I think pretty much all babies are cute, but this one definitely makes it somewhere near the top of the list.
Jeremiah is Turning One!
January 7, 2012It's crazy to think that it's been almost a year since I took this handsome little man's newborn photos! He is getting so big, and we did a quick shoot to do some one year old photos. Big brother got to sneak into some of the shots as well. They are the smiley-est kids in front of the camera, I love it! Happy almost birthday Jeremiah!
I Still Believe in Magic
January 7, 2012I went to Disneyland with my mom earlier this week. I had an amazing time, but my feet would beg to differ (I was wearing really cute shoes, which women everywhere should know that means they will kill your feet. And my feet, they we're brutally murdered.) However, I had an amazing girl day with my mom walking around downtown Disney, then running back and forth between both parks to see everything we wanted to see. It was ridiculously crowded, but still a really good time. I also was able to meet up with a few friends that were there for the day. You may recognize this super cute family, and will be seeing more of those boys in my next post! I also ran into my friend Genie, who works at Disneyland and had the day off. Everything was still decorated for Christmas, so we got to see all the beautiful
